Strobilo Goes To Tokyo For The Future Food Institute’s RegenerAction Event

Strobilo’s CEO Andrea Bariselli was in Tokyo last week, for the Japanese version of the RegenerAction event, where he gave a speech about environmental impact on brain health & wellbeing. Launched by the Future Food Institute in 2021, RegenerAction aims to foster debate and actions across six key areas: political, land, human, social, cultural, and economic regeneration. The initiative’s main partner is Future Food Institute Japan, which has its headquarters at Kyobashi Living Lab, in the country’s bustling capital.

Strobilo was consulted because of our expertise in assessing the impact of different types of environment (from Comune di Pollica’s Mediterranean coastline to Milan’s gray districts) on human beings –from a neuroscientific point of view. Scientific literature has shown in multiple instances that different environmental settings are often linked to different developmental challenges when it comes to brain health (let’s think about the proven correlation between exposure to heavy pollutants and Alzheimer’s disease).

For A Healthier Workplace

There's a correlation between air quality and productivity at work, as shown by Strobilo's ©Brain Efficiency Index on ©Strobilo Impact.

Our team also took the chance to install indoor monitoring devices at a client’s  office–making sure all environmental variables (CO2, humidity, VOCs, etc.) are within safe levels for employees’ health. Yes, because air components can in fact affect productivity & overall performance, by negatively (or positively) impacting brain health.

The anonimized graph above, for example, shows a negative impact –as measured through Strobilo’s main Key Performance Indicator, the ©Brain Efficiency Index or BEI. In this screenshot taken from Strobilo’s proprietary dashboard, ©Strobilo Impact, we can see that the subjects’ brains in client’s Room #1 and #2 are performing respectively at a mean of only 70% and almost 50% of their actual capability. *Subjects in this specific graph do not represent the client already mentioned*

All because of the combined negative influence of environmental settings, such as temperature, CO2 and others. 👉 What do you think? Did you know air quality monitoring could be this beneficial to employees? Is Japan on your bucket-list?
